Race vs ethnicity: the curious case of Rachel Dolezal, explained (sort of) I found this interesting article about woman she is white but then here ethnically to black or she consider herself as African american. she change her style as African American. Is the rights thing to change your ethnicity to another person. and act as the different ways that you growth with it. I think there is no such thing call race and should stop racism. My question Can you be ethnically black or white or there is such thing call race ? www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jun/12/rachel-dolezal-race-versus-ethnicity-explainer

There is no such thing as race. Everyone is the same human being, just that there are little differences in genetics. I'd like to think about the act that the woman in the article made as an act of changing identity. She is just changing her cultural identity. Individual can determine their identity, no matter what appearance they take. I think racism purely comes out from pride and people's tendency to rule out people that do not fit their standards. Understanding that every single people in the world is unique & different, and getting rid of pride of their culture may, hopefully, eliminate racism in this world.

Race is something that describes the culture you are from. For example, if you have to put in your college apps or something it asks about your race. You can be Asian, African, European, and many more. It's just to see from which culture you are from. As Topher mentioned, the woman is just trying to change her cultural identity. You can be ethnically black or white or anything if you want to be. It's just the fact that it will be something different from what you have lived from in a different ethnicity.
