I agree with you about the idea that fame and money doesn't make people happy. As for several researches, they concluded that poor countries are more happier than rich countries, We learned this AP Psych last week. Money and fame make people worried about their money and fame. They are worried something would happen to them, poor people, they have nothing to lose, so they are satisfied with their lives.

I also think that fame and money will not make people happy all the time. Money brings satisfaction, but not happiness. Material goods do not make us happy. Acquiring things like houses and cars only have a transient effect on happiness. People’s desires for material possessions crank up at the same, or greater rate, than their salaries. Despite considerably more luxurious possessions, people end up in a less happy state of mind.

I also agree with you. If fame and money make a good life, then why would people who have all the fame and money decide to suicide? To think in opposite way, I think fame and money can make one's life worse. It actually depends on case by case but it is true that good life is not from fame and money. I think having good people and meaningful people around us is the best way to make our life happier. People desire fame and money just because they cannot make it but sounds good.

Money can bring happiness. Only, the happiness is temporary. Soon, you won't be satisfied and you would want even more. Money leads to greed, I would say. Instead of money, I believe that what makes your life happy is doing things for others. When someone else is helped, they are happy. In return, you become happy. You don't need money to bring you happiness. You only need kindness.

I think that happiness is like a gradient. Happiness can be different levels in how happy you are but also in how much one thin brings you happiness. Greed also comes into play because the more of something you have that makes you happy, the more you'll want of it, and so you'll never be fully satisfied. This is the kind of happiness that money brings and so like everyone said above, it's only temporary and shallower happiness. I think true happiness is things that you can think about even after it's gone and cherish as good memories or feelings.

Well, it depends on the situation. Money can bring happiness if you are extremely poor. For example, your mother is divorcing your father because he cannot earn enough money to support the family. Also, your father is an alcoholic and he always abuse you 24/7. Your mother says to stay with your father but you don't want to stay. In this situation you will probably hate your life because of money. Money and fame can bring happiness if you are extremely in a difficult situation; However, if you in the middle cluncool then you don't need money and fame to be happy.

Well now adays, happiness can be bought with all the new technology, innovations, but since rich people are put in the pressure in which others control their lives and not themselves, especially with fame. Therefore I'd think of happiness as more comfort of what you're actions are that affected others to feel satisfied, personally money and fame doesn't affect my emotional needs, but interacting with others to aid them in life.

I agree with Jin that money and fame can only bring satisfaction, not happiness. It has been found that people who have achieved intrinsic goals such as personal growth are more happy than those who have many material possessions. There are a lot of celebrities who actually disliked their current lives as celebrities and hated all the attention and lack of privacy they received. That is why they left their lives in the fame industry and started to pursue ordinary ones to try to live their lives to their fullest without the media following their every moves.

I think money is mainly used to bring stability into someone's life. In present day, we need money to survive our daily lives, so the more money you have, the better your livelihood (unless your job comes with major risks of losing that job). So money itself won't bring happiness, but there are ways to turn money into proper happiness. It can be used to gain and improve skills, like learning how to play an instrument, or money can be used to buy a plane ticket to visit family members.

At the same time, living in extreme poverty does mean you are unhappy. While being rich does not necessarily bring happiness, being poor definitely brings unhappiness because sometimes, you lack the basic things in life and more.

I think money can make people happy but that might not be the permanent happiness. Nowadays, people judge others by how much money they have or they earn. Unfortunately, if you have less money than others, you are considered as the "lower cluncool citizen" and if you have more money, then vice versa. Of course you don't want others to treat you like trash because of the amount money you have. In my personal opinion, money can make rich people not happy and make poor people happy...? Too rich people will have their own vexations.

I think money and fame don't make people happy because when we die, we can't take them with us. I think only a memory is left over when we die. For example, we will feel happy when we have money while we alive, but it will not make us rich when we die. Therefore, my goal is to do whatever I want before I die because the money will not make my memory more happier when there is no people who I love and fame will not make my memory more valuable.

I think fame and money do it bring happiness but that is totally temporary. It gives us a delusion of being happy. But in the end that doesn't last long. There is no secret of being happy. It also differs person to person. But the key is self satisfaction. Being happy with what we already have, rather than longing for something that we don't have. That's why it's possible for some of the poor countries to be one of the happiest.

I also think that fame and wealth does not lead to living a happy life because people have this desire to seek for more at every single moment. They just don't satisfy with what they currently have. People who collect things like Jordan series will have a desire to just continue to collect shoes even when they have all the shoes that have come out. And what's next after they have collected all those shoes? nothing happens and the happiness lasts for a few hours or just a few minutes and that person will move on to something else. So there is no end to people's greed of wanting something and having that kind of thing will never make them happy.
