Combining how we've been discussing manipulation, witch hunts, the Paris terrorist attacks, and racial discrimination...here are some of my thoughts:
Life is just a cycle. There will always be people who are discriminated, manipulated, innocently killed, people who are responsible for those actions, and people who try their best to help. I have finally realized that things will stay this way no matter how advanced our world becomes. I feel sad that I've acknowledged this as I grew older, and at the same time, I hope I regain my strength to challenge it.
All we can do is help if we can. It's impossible to stop evil. Our lives are so small. When we look at the year say 1887 now and feel distant or irrelevant, just think! That's basically us! One day people will look into the past and go, "woah, 1998, that's like 200 years ago man". I can see it! And in their time, witch hunts, terrorist attacks, racism,...everything other kind of evil will still be a thing, maybe in different forms, but at the core of it, world peace will not have been reached.
Maybe that's life. Have you ever wondered why influential people are always killed? Gandhi, Jesus, Martin Luther King Jr, John Lennon...I don't know, countless others. It's almost as if "God" was like, alright, good times are over, now I'm just going to take it all away. Their contributions to humanity remain of course, but the shock, the loss of hope their deaths leave us, it's like how can people who have done good die like that..now we're left to start over. And sure, new leaders emerge from every generation. That's how everything seems like a cycle. Bad things always happen. Good things always end. Maybe that's the only way for us to feel things, have a spectrum, good and bad, happy and sad...
Anyway, I just felt a bit helpless, especially now that we're working on ways we can prevent manipulation. Can we?
I don't know what to ask for you to comment, but if you feel like saying anything, please do!

Maybe this is why many of us want to believe in religion. To some, they don't even know if their God (or gods) exist. No, that's not right. They don't CARE whether their Gos/gods exist. They want comfort from all the cycles of life filled with manipulation, treachery, theft, and murder. They want to believe that the life after the one we're living in is better. Good things always end, as you say. But there is a possibility that in the world after, good things won't end.
For present society, there is no way to end manipulation- it is like how utopia cannot exist- as long as greed exists, manipulation will not cease to exist. And, manipulation is everlasting. If a person is manipulated by another, the person will learn how to manipulate others in the process, and the cycle will go on and on. It's cycle that a few cunning and intellectual people will eventually win. It's pretty stable socially, though, if you think about it. But morally, we all know it is wrong.

If that's the case, that means humanity should strive to puncool the cycle in the most efficient and least dangerous way. But then, why are we interacting with one another? Humans discriminate, manipulate, and kill each other, so won't the best solution be to separate everyones' lives so we won't have to deal with each other?

I'm rooting for Jae's idea. In the historical view, people created and/or believed in religions because they needed something to depend on when they were scared. We can't stop anything happening in a "life cycle" so we believed in religion to save us from the world. That's where heaven, second life, and many other beliefs of various religions pop out from. I like your idea Grace about amazing leaders and people leading humanity to a better place but ends up dying and new leaders show up. This is how everything will go in the far future.
If we don't interact with others, what is the meaning of life? What's the point of living if you aren't going to do anything?

I have been thinking about all these kind of stuffs and ended up with no answer. I don't think we can really answer tho. I tried so hard to get hold on my life but didn't work. It continued as it was. Sometimes really not eventful and took some quite sharp turns. Also thinking about my religion and my believes gave me a lot of hard times. In the end I just stopped thinking and decided to let it flow as it is. So in my personal opinion, we can't really control things. It happens as if it was bound to happen, don't know why tho.

Hi Grace, I remember you, me and Sunny discussing about good and evil in c.luncool. You had such a strong belief that the evil will anyway take advantage of the goods and you said that no one could stop the evil. You're right. People still have controversies that people are born with either evil or good. I remember that I told you that there's still going to be a certain minority of people whose going to change the world and influence the world to bring a better place. I agree with you that the world is going to be a cycle. However, we learn that taking advantage of others are wrong and it's wrong to harm others. We learn if we do so, we get punished by the world and we try not to. People in Europe, people in Paris, fight guns with flowers and people show justice and bravery to help the others. This makes most of the people in the other part of the world touched and speechless. It moves many people's heart and change their attitude in a certain way. We cannot destroy the whole entire evilness, but we can minimize it. Life is a cycle, it just changes a bit. However, we all know that a bit a change has enough power to change the whole entire world.

I agree with life being a cycle that you pointed out. Reading these news, it is easy to lose faith in humanity and feel helpless. I don't think influential people are always killed. Mother Teresa wasn't killed and there are influential activists and artists still alive today. I think you thinking, bad things always happen and good things always end, is partly influenced by the depressing news we hear everywhere. I personally still have faith in humanity. I actually don't get what "having faith in humanity" is but what i mean is that I still think good exists. Good always exists. And bad exists too, but everything ends eventually.

Life is a cycle, but it is a cycle that we should attempt to control, not blindly follow. I think it's amazing that you're taking the first step to challenge the cycle of life, when others choose not to fight it. Yes, we may be only one individual in a population of 7 billion. Yes, we will probably end up as a part of history before we accomplish all the goals we want to achieve. However, I agree that we should attempt to help. The contributions of one seem small now, but being one of the contributors of a cause that is later followed by many others is the road to change. We shouldn't give up thinking that we can't do much with one body; we have to inspire others to act as well. One of us may not be able to do much, but a large number of "one of us" will be able to accomplish that objective.

I not get your point every will but I understander the way you think! so we do need to became free by think and prevent manipulation. but to prevent manipulation it is hard and human by them self they are create and do tourism and kill innocent people by religion names that's so sad but still we have to look for solution because some people have brain wash , I like this young people joined this tourism groups like isis and they attacks and killed innocent people, just because they had brainwash by order people from them. and we can not done violence by violence .

I understand why you would think that way. Like life seems to be just a cycle and evil is unstoppable. Life seems hopeless and that there is no sense of purpose. No matter how people try, things repeat. I really like that you hope to regain the strength to challenge the cycle. Good things and bad things happen, this is inevitable. One might not be able to change the world, but one can influence, start a spark that will snowball into something big that changes the world. I think we should never lose hope. It's not like EVERYTHING is completely helpless and hopeless at this point. There are still people out there trying to make a positive impact on humanity. I think we just need to give effort and hope in the world(area, environment) that we are currently in.

Yeah... I do agree with you Grace, life is a cycle and you talked about some negative points.. but there are still beautiful things around the world~ Like.. You love nature and animals! Ah.. But I know it's hard not to think about the negative things because all those positive things lead to negative things at the end. World is a cycle, Life is a cycle. Born Live Die. I'm so scared of what's going to happen in the future and what will happen to the world..? We will be only a small part of the history and everything now will be all gone and new things will be there instead.. I'm curious and scared at the same time. Grace, cheer up!
