Just some thoughts as we get closer and closer to the time to leave for college.. Is it mandatory for us to know our own limits and so that we know when to give up or when to keep trying?
There are certain circumstances that we get the feeling that we are no longer able to achieve the goal set for yourself. There are times when you want to give up, when you want to stop everything, and in severe cases runaway or even die. These thoughts must have crossed your mind if you are a senior and have a lot of things going on in life. This is the time when the transition from our teen age to young adulthood. I still think I have some hope left in me in continuing to work hard, but I just wanted to know what you guys are thinking about your life and your future. Why should we keep trying over and over again and for what are we trying so hard?
I know it's a childish thought but I mean, there are so many people out there that are successful and didn't go to college or even study at all. Why is the name of the college, education so important to us? I actually think that the relationships you have in life are the most important.
What do you guys think?

I think it would be better for all of us to believe that we have no limit in what we can do, so that we can never give up and always keep trying. As you said, there are so many people out there who didn't go to college but still became successful, but that just means that they had to work even harder to get to where they are today. And even with that info, there are so many others who became successful after attending and completing college, too. Relationships in life are definitely important, but there are a lot of relationships we can form in college, too. So I think we should be looking forward to our college years with high hopes and dreams.

Yeah, man I know this feeling. I think the way out is finding something you know you want to do.
All this stuff we're going through right now is just society's way of helping us get somewhere in life so we at least have some skills to survive. But if we find an aim thats beyond all this, we don't have to stick around to finish "college, school" , we don't have to waste our time. We can just go do it! When our puncoolion to do something develops so strong we become fearless of the consequences, that's when we'll have the answer to "why are we trying to hard". I think a lot of us don't know what we want to do, thats' why we're kind of just going along with this education stuff for now. At least we don't mess up too bad we can't have a decent way of living later on. But yes, if we settle now, we'll always be asking this question of why we try so hard. Because we'll live with no goal! But if we did, if we stopped caring about these college names, numbers...while we're young, maybe we'll get an answer.
The more I think of it, the more I feel that relationships are the most important in life too. Whatever we accomplish we won't be able to take with us. All we can remember when we die is the connections we had with people we loved. Doing big things in life won't really mean anything. But small things done with all your heart will impact people and make a difference.

I think the reason why we try is because we have to, not because we want to. The way I see it, society is just something there for us to be in. It doesn't help us but sets expectations for us. Rather, we must do everything on our own, trying to meet up to that expectation. Going with that idea, I think the reason why college / university is so important for us is only because we believe it to be so. Society expects us to go to college, get a degree, etc. so that we can be successful. But many times, people have been successful without going to college. Yet, we still follow what is expected.

We try because we don't know what we are capable of. I'd rather think that we should keep on trying and never give up. Even though a situation might push us to give up, we never know if it will get better. There will be times when things are not flowing the way that we want it to be, such as failing to go to the college that we want to go or our goal suddenly isn't fitting. No one ever knows when and what will happen in the future. I think it is important for us to not to panic, but to be calm and try to figure out an alternative. There are successful people who didn't went to college. Yet we are focused on getting into college because the society wants us to get into college. Let us just know that society cannot dictate our decisions. Whatever we do, we make our own decisions. Like Emily said, set your goals high. Everything will eventually follow up. Even though your goal might not seem fit, another set of goal will follow up. Don't lose hope!

I try because I want to win. Simple as that. Sure, throwing in the towel would be easy and quick, but that means I'd have to give up. I don't care enough for my own physical or mental health to not try. Everything's just a game to me, every bit of homework or chore, a mission. And I want to be the main character, and the main character's always supposed to win. Being competent's pretty much the only way to bring up my self-esteem, and it just so happens to be the only way to beat the game. And once it's done? I do what I want, which in my case, play, program and make video games.
But, I have no idea how other people think about themselves, so I don't know.

We try because because we want to achieve our goals. People set up their goals to test their limitation. Setting a certain goal plays a crucial role in life. By experiencing certain things, people will learn their mistakes and will try to do better. As Nick mentioned, there are certain people who are successful without attending to universities. However, I do believe those people have worked hard to be in that successful position. I think it is important to have a perseverance like Steve Jobs. Jobs had built Apple into multibillion company in early 1980s, but disappointing sales led to his ouster in 1985. He later looked back on this incident and said that getting fired from Apple was one of the best things had ever happened to him because it helped him regain a sense of freedom and innovation. He was able to make Apple into global company because he never gave up. Even though we are going through difficulties, we should never give up in order to achieve our goals.

That's why our life is so fun and eventful you know. I think we try our best so that we won't regret that we didn't try or give a shot at it. Also by doing this it introduces us to new challenges and that's how our life goes on. That's how it works for me and I love the way it goes. Even if I fail after working so hard for something it gives me to get up and grow stronger at it. So yeah that's why everyone try too I guess.

I think college is basic things in our generations. Just like graduating elementary school. We need to do something that are basic in our life. There are some people who is successful even though they didn't graduate college, but there are some reasons that they have to be successful. The success is depend on how you do in daily days and preparation of your future. For example, Steve Jobs was only graduated high school because he didn't know point of going to college, but he was very different from other. He was well known about technologies and he knew what he had to do at that point. He proved that his action was right. It is very rare to be sure what we are doing and it is hard to be different from other people. When we trying hard, the consequences will be very good.

I feel you Nick. I wasn't thinking of going to college till this semester. I didn't know this pre-college process is this painful.. I regret that I didn't think about what I want to do in my life, tests, schools and stuff. Now, these days, I feel the same thing with you. I know I cannot achieve my goal for my college and my tests but I have to still try over and over again. This is painful. I can see the future obviously but I still get to try. You must be really tired of this, Cheer up! Though the process is painful and you don't see hope for now, there must be hope there. Everyone is God blessed! Cheer up!
