How does fear of the unknown drive our lives?
So, Guys today in cluncool we discuss Grace question and talks about fear and How do the choices we make in or not make affect our lives? , what cause human to be fear of death, and also in monologue to be or not to be we found that. Hamlet going mad. And he thinks life it so hard. Hamlet started off as a normal human being, but after the conversation with a ghost he started to pretend to be mad and as far as story ghost he was never able to leave that mad character, simply because he stayed mad for too long. Maybe if he killed Claudius earlier he could have become normal?
What do you think Guys? Why human in general scared of death?

Death is a great example of the unknown, because no one is completely sure what happens after death. People with different religions have different viewpoints on events after death, such as Christianity with heaven and hell, and the Egyptians and their afterlife of the dead, but with so many explanations of after-death who can be sure which one is true, if any. That is why many people are all afraid of death: they do not know what will happen. Fear of death has driven us so far: medicines and hospitals are all inventions made to try to prevent death just a little bit more. And even with such developed technology, scientists today are still looking for everlasting cures or lives which could possibly happen.

I agree with Emily! Death definitely is an important example of unknown fear. Although some believe in afterlife or reincarnation, it really is impossible to know what really happens after one die. Even if there is an afterlife, how does afterlife look like? Even within the branch of Christianity, there are many different perspective on how hell and heaven look like. Because death is so mysterious and impossible to be explored, people tend to be imaginative about death - often the worst possibility - and fear feeds on these negative imaginations and grows.

In the "to be or not to be" speech, Hamlet discusses the idea of what dreams may come in the sleep of death. He doesn't know, and others don't as well. Hamlet even goes on to say that after death is an undiscovered country. No one really comes back from the dead to tell the tale of what the place (if there even is one) after death is like. We have to experience it for ourselves. That's what gives the feeling of fear, because we don't know.

I think people are afraid of death because humans in human nature are often afraid of the unknown. Because nobody knows what death is like, this plays a role in our fear. I think we also imagine the worst or the best possible in death and doubt and the impossibility to knowing adds on to it all.

Many people are scared of death. But I don't think it is always because we are scared the "unknown" part of death, sometimes it's just that we don't want to stop living, because living is so great, as Ms. Boyd said. Fear of the unknown definelty drives our life though. The unknown can be death, reason behind our existence, or if my crush likes me or not. The "unknown" is a huge part of our life, worries, and ideas. Many things happen because we don't know. Such as billions of philosophies and theories behind our existence.

I mean, fear of the unknown in this case can be arguably a good thing, as we will see much more people suicide if they are not afraid of death. Let's face it: reality isn't great. All we can do is guess what will happen after death, or believe in what the religious text says.

In my personal opinion, humans tend to scare of death because it's end of life and do not know the next step. Some might believe that there's an after world but not everyone. So i think people scare of death because it's mysterious. It is kinda wrong to say that people scare of death because they afraid if the end of their life because there are lots of people who actually want theyr life to end. It's basically called suicide. However, it is still true that most of people afraid of death .

As many of you guys mentioned, people (with a high chance) is scared of death because we don't know what will happen after death. You might end up in so called heaven or hell. You might live again your second life as a bug. You might become a star in the skies! Who knows? I think another reason is the way people die. Imagine yourself 99 years old and you know that you might die in the next minute. It's pretty scary to know that you'll just disappear from the face of Earth. If you die in like a car accident, imagine the fear a person would feel in the split second. All of these can be reasons why people fear death.

Humans are scared of death because humans are scared of the unknown. You don't really know what is going to happen after death so it is scary. We are not sure that heaven and hell exist so some people don't believe it and some people do. Some people are not scared of death because reality is worse for them. So some people tend to suicide to get off of reality and go to heaven or hell. So it guess it really depends on the person because they can be scared of death and some people will not be scared of death.

People are afraid of death because according to human nature we are afraid of unknown creature. In Buddha religion, people often believe in afterlife and reincarnation. However, it is hard to determine whether afterlife actually exists. We can not ask dead people about how afterlife looks like. It is impossible to know. Also, in Christianity, there is no clear explanation about how hell and heaven look like. People tend to explore and imagine about unknowns.

I love the part in the monologue where Hamlet says (the fear of death) "...puzzles the will and makes us rather bear those ills we have, than fly to others that we know not of". It's such an accurate description of when you would rather put up with something you're used to, than experience something you fear. Sometimes I dont understand why death is always thought to be scary and dark. I guess just like anything else humans don't have an answer to, they make it scary so people don't talk about it. I don't think death is scary. It only is because we're all so afraid of it. But what is there to be afraid or? Why do we let the fear of death control how we live when we don't even know what happens when we die? Why do we automatically think we go to hell, or we become ghosts, or we're sent down to do labor or float around the earth? There is an equal chance that when we die, we go to this wonderful place full of games, food, art and stuff.

Just by saying that we are scared of death because we don't know what next will happen to us, didn't really scared me a lot. I thought I could just handle death because it's one of the GENUINE fact in the whole entire universe. Humans die. They also do. Then, I got scared by these thoughts, "What if I don't remember my family or friends and they just vanish?", "What if I just disappear to this world and sleep forever with no dreams?". In my personal opinion, I got scared of death because of my own loss. I am scared by death because I'm afraid of losing my family, my friends, and myself. I'm scared because I might lose all my memories. I'm more scared of death because of the loss I will make. I don't have a religion so I don't really believe in heaven/hell or revival. If there's heaven or hell, I hope I would still have my memories to remember someone or something. I'm not that scared of the pain. If there's revival, I hope I could meet the people I've met in my previous life so that I'll always be beside the people I loved and still love.
