Is knowledge dangerous? Why do we knowledge?
So, Basically, this is essential for this quarter. Bais on research and my idea, Our age is the age of information and quickly developing technologies, for modern people knowledge is a necessity to survive in this world. Every day people acquire more and more new knowledge. But even in the Bible God warns men that knowledge brings more regret than it does value: "He that increases the knowledge increases the sorrow". So do agree with the developing technologies life? our with the religion statements?

I think knowledge can be dangerous because knowledge is powerful. There's that saying "ignorance is bliss" because sometimes it's better not to know and sometimes not knowing can keep you happier. For example, if we didn't have the technology we have today, life might not be as comfortable, but at the same time, technology might advance too far as to say AI who takes over jobs of humans, which would not be good for the people who lose their jobs.

I actually believe that knowledge is helpful. Look how far we've advanced as people with the help of knowledge. We wouldn't have gone this far if we didn't have knowledge. But I also think that it could be dangerous. Knowledge led to more wars. Being aware of who we actually are and knowing death, we would surely want to survive. And if it leads to war, people will fight for their survival.

I don't think it is knowledge that is dangerous, WE are dangerous. There is always a counter measure to another knowledge. For example, if we have knowledge of atomic bomb we could also have the knowledge to defend a country from atomic bomb with further research. Also, if we happen to learn of something dangerous by change, it is on us whether we will take advantage of the new learned knowledge or ignore it. So it really depend on our action.

I agree with Julia, where she said that knowledge could be dangerous. Even though knowledge can be useful when it comes to improvement in human world, it could be used as a weapon to destroy the human world too. All these nuclear bombs were knowledge of people that were used to destroy the world, if these knowledge were used to efficiently to construct the world instead of destructing, the world would be a better place.

Whether we acquire knowledge or not is by choice. Although it may be true that knowledge could be dangerous, I believe that, as an individual, we should always seek knowledge. It's important because for example, we're constantly being lied to by the government or scientists about every little thing in life. Greater knowledge has helped us achieve bigger things, like technological advancement, but why do these things matter if the government puts a limit to knowledge of the majority of people in this world? I think that knowledge is essential, to survive and to avoid manipulation.

I believe we had discussed this topic in the beginning of school year. This will prove that how much is important about this topic. Yes. I truly believe that knowledge is very dangerous, at the same time, it is very important. Knowledge is always the center of our development, but not all developments come up with good results. In fact, I do agree with the developing technologies life because new developing technologies not only cause bad results to people but also develop backup methods of that new developing technologies.

Sometimes, knowledge (or knowing the truth) can be more dangerous than not knowing it. This means knowledge can be that much powerful and effective to everything. However, I agree with Lucia that whether we acquire knowledge or not is by our choice. Therefore, if we choose to know something, we have to take the responsibility to handle it. Just as Hamlet, Hamlet couldn't handle the truth (that his father was killed by Claudius) and started to become mad. Also, as technology develops, some people started to fear of our inventions. The invention of Robots and the new technology might make humans in danger and useless. Additionally, governments and institutions such as NASA, tries not to reveal the truth to the citizens which might bring a big confusion to the people. Answering Maysam's question, I do agree that humanity should develop technologies but it's a big problem to determine the exact limit where we could stop developing. We should try to make our limit in order to prevent the technology threatening the humanity.

I think both knowledge and ignorance is dangerous. Knowing informations that holds power could possibly harm you in a way but not knowing also could potentially harm you in a way. It's like if someone knew what the nuclear code were, then many people would try to capture you and find the code out whereas if you don't even know your enemy have a nuclear, you can be bombed in any time.

In my personal opinion, knowledge is dangerous but it is wrong to not develop the technology on purpose. Although knowledge and well developed technology have possibility to make human life more dangerous, developing and new knowledges are needed for our future kids and for better world. Think of past, it has been developed a lot in korea and there were some risks at the developing stage but what about now? We are living in better world obviously.

Knowledge is a tool, so it isn't good or bad by default. A knife can be used to prepare food to eat, but it can also be used for murder. Similarly, knowledge can be used to think about how awful life is and how nothing really matters in the long run, but it can also allow you to make your mark in the world by gaining the skills needed to follow your aspirations. Like any tool, it's how it's used that makes it dangerous or not.

I don't want to go to the religious aspect of it but I think knowledge is important to us. Without learning we can not keep growing as a person and improve ourselves. Having little knowledge and acting like we know it all is scary to me. Because then we start thinking without facts and act arrogantly. So if we want to fix this, we have to make sure that we are actually understanding what knowledge truly is.

I don't think that knowledge is dangerous but depending on how you use it can differ and bring you different results such as ruining a person's life or save lives. Sometimes, there are some knowledge that comes as you live which is called wisdom and some that you must figure out on your own. However, how you use it will depend on yourself and it is never dangerous to know more things. Its the owner that abuses it. Also with technology, its better if you use it in a safe way for humanity is smarter than technology but when it is abused it will never be safe.

This days,I feel like knowledge is dangerous. People develope nuclear weapons and also plan their murders. I think there are positive things from knowwledge, but one day we will lose our jobs. People keep developing robots or machines that can act like humans. People place those things in factories or office. From that placements, people losing their jobs. In the future, there might be no jobs that people can do.

Although there are both good and bad sides of knowledge, I think that the good outweigh the bad. Even though developing technology can make war more fiercer and more dangerous with many more casualties (example), there are also more methods to combat that and try to make our world a bit safer. Against greenhouse gases, though we use many fossil fuels now there are electric cars to combat the failing ozone layer. Hopefully people will learn to use their knowledge is helpful and more positive ways, but this is not always the case.
