I definitely agree with you that humility should be one of the traits on our character trait list. Though they may not realize it, many people take things they have for granted, such as food, water, shelter, all the things we believe are just given in life but are actually provided for from our parents. Though we do not think it is true, all the things we have are thanks to our parents, while many other people in this world do not have even those basic necessities. Some people are even so conceited they believe themselves to be top of the world, and though it may not seem like such a bad thing now in the future when trying to get a job or career, it can definitely play a harsh role in reality. We should always be grateful for everything we have and not taking anything for granted.

If we look at our school's character traits, those are more likely to teach us how to chase after our dreams rather than how to be a better person. There are some small aspects but those are not stressed on. Some of the character compliments each other and other contradicts. Now It's on us to chose from them and decide what kind of person We want to be.

I have a different perspective on humility. I think humility is a bad and good thing at the same time. Humility can give us lessons, and teach us not to do the same thing again in the future because we don't like to get humiliated. When people laugh it off to get over something, they need to learn about it, learn from their mistakes to shake it off and laugh the humiliation off. However, when we can't take that humiliation off, then it is mostly impossible for us to move on or to learn from that mistake. This would cause them to repeat their wrong-doings or what they are humiliated for over and over again. I also think that is why humiliation is a very important character trait not just in the school environment but also in the real world too.

Our school has a variety of character traits, but I agree that humility is one trait that is missing from that list. Mr. Edward in particular appears to favor grit, as we have had our talk about grit as well as take a test that measures our current level of grit. He also always says to show spark in the cluncoolroom. The current list of personality traits appear to focus on maintaining a proper school environment, instead of necessarily one's outside life. Humility is a needed quality; nobody likes someone who is overly arrogant. We need humility to know not to get drunk on success, so that we always know to be humble.
