I reflect a lot upon the character traits of our school, and I think one really important one is missing: Humility.
This could be explained through various situations. There's nothing much we can do about anything or anyone in this world. We just have to be humble, accept people and how they are, and move on. Another one I think is important is humor. We can't live without the ability to laugh it off and move on. All kinds of people and things exist, we can't control anything. Although the school focuses its attention on grit, telling us to not give up on our dreams or something like that, I think humility and humor prove in some level to be more important life wise. I have especially learned that from this school. For example, the humor to laugh at not knowing everything, in this world.
What do you think is missing from our character traits?

Agreeing with Grace, the school focuses on the character traits such as self-control, grit and empathy. Perhaps, the school thought that the students have modesty and humor with no doubt. Students find laughter from school with their friends and they try to behave modest to approach to their friends in a better way. Not only modesty and humor but, I also think the students should find character traits such as warmth (the ability to approach people in a warm behavior), honesty, responsibility, open, generous and etc. I learned that we have to be open to new experiences that we're going to face and we have to be generous to other people. Also, we have to be honest to each other in order to be trustworthy. As John Hammond has said, these characters are the real foundation of all worthwhile success. One of the character traits that I personally think we're missing is "kindness". I think it's important for us to use our strength to treat each other with kindness. I also think it's important for us to keep these character traits in mind and practice these actions.

I agree with you that our character traits need humility, I think that humor is quite similar to spark. Where there is spark, there is light, and light can represent happiness. So though I think that humor is quite important int keeping our lives happy and satisfied, it is too similar a word to spark. Another word I think could be added is generosity. We should all appreciate the happy and good lives we are living now, and that we have the basic necessities of life unlike many other families in the world. So to appreciate the good things we have, we should be able to donate to them and show them our own generosity; not being generous and giving can increase selfishness within people.

I also agree with you. Humility is definetly needed and it is one of the most important personal character trait in out life I think. It is impossible to put every important character traits in our school's character trait but since we are attending international school, I believe humility should be included in our school's character trait for many reasons.

Humility is important everywhere we go. To my opinion, people generally do not like arrogance; yet, they praise the humble. I think humility would be a great addition to the character traits. Also, I think authenticity would also be a good character trait. Being reliable can help out a lot in today's society. Character traits are there for a reason. I do think it would be nice if we can put an effort to acquire those traits.

I also think humility can be important but I think confidence is also important. If I had to choose between two, it would be confidence. I can't remember if we had confidence as one of our character traits so I can't say it's the one we're missing. I like that you said humor. I also learned that laughing things off is important in this corrupted soviet. But I don't want to do that yet, I'm not adult enough. Also, one character trait were missing is, sincerity. Maybe honesty. But I think being sincere is more imporant becuase sometimes being honest is not recommended. Being honest is like enforcing integrity but being sincere is like being humane.

Yeah, I agree with grace. You got to have humility. I think for grit you sometimes need to know when you give up. Like if it is totally impossible and you are being really cocky and say I can do that. Sometime we have to look down and see what we really are. If you have humility, you will be humble and try your best even though others say something to you. Yeah, I also agree with humor. You need humor to make connections with other people. If you can make people laugh, then people will like you and bring happiness to you.

Humility is an uncoolet for self-improvement. By remaining humble, people gain opportunities to improve. With a spirit of humility, leaders recognize that they will likely fail, but that their perseverance allows them to stand back up after the fall and move forward with confidence. Also, humble leaders are modest about their success.Instead, they finish the drill, fail forward and let their spirit of humility help them to benefit from adversity. Beyond personal success, humility is also a virtue for inner well-being. If people combine humility with motivation, people have the ability to drive towards successes without letting the failures knock you out of balance. More importantly, staying humble allows the temporary frustrations to fall off.

I also think humanility is important, but I think grit is most important in life. We ways looking for best like creating bedt moment in life and receive best grades. I think order to receive success and best, we need grit. We always have good start and plan for best, but we can see some failures around us. We all starts in same point, but some peole success with it, but some people don't. When there is no grit then there is no success. I think there are nothing matters when we fail. That is reason why we have Mr.Edward's speech and one of characteristic traits. I think grit is most important.

Humility is extremely important because it relieves stress, which if we have too much, lead to severe depression and suicide in extreme cases. Though there is good side of seriousness, we all want to laugh. We want to be happy. On the other hand, for grit, I think we should have grit for the things we care about. If it is something that is not important, it is better to give up, and focus on something you care about.

I think that humility is important as well. If someone has no humility then that might be destructive. The term hamartia refers to a fatal flaw, and not being able to be humble or getting ahead or yourself might be someone's hamartia. For example, Icarus in the his Greek myth flied too close to the sun, which is often used as a metaphor for getting ahead of yourself. He died as a result.

Not having humility could be an example of Beowulf, where he showed his arrogance to the ultimate limit. As Julia said, lack of humility can lead us towards destruction. An example is Beowulf, his arrogance also his lack of humility lead him towards his own death.

Yea I agree with u grace I think grit is sometimes needed to know when to give up. You can't be always cocky you know? I think we should take sometime and look past to know who we really are. I learned a lot about humility from Mr. Berry and now I know that I should learn my mistakes and try to fix it.

I agree, Humility is very important that should be in our school. Being humble is the feeling of being self-satisfied and talents of what we have, thus they achieve true confidence by proving it that they are able to do it, not to everyone, but rather to yourself. And being part of "in the middle" of not seeing yourself above everyone else.

For me, I do think that humility is important and it is something that we must learn in order to survive in society however, I also think that humility is made up from the character traits in our school. Integrity, Grit, Spark, Empathy, self-control, optimism and others are so important that even will having these, your humility will be complete. In my opinion, just by having self-control and thinking before you behave, you can have other traits and have others love you!! learn to use it. It helped me alot i guess
