I agree with most of you that the ghost he saw in the beginning was real and it is understandable because people in the Elizabethan era believed in ghosts and even witches, like jin said. However, throughout the story it seemed like Hamlet was making things up about King Hamlet because he is the only one who witnesses it. Also, he started going crazy and was blinded by revenge, which could've prevented him from making the right decisions and controlling himself.

I think that the ghost was only real in the beginning of the story, not in the bedroom scene with Hamlet and Gertrude. The ghost probably chose to speak only when Hamlet was alone so that the others would't hear what the ghost was saying, so that is why he waited for Hamlet to be by himself. But in the bedroom scene, Hamlet was clearly not alone and the ghost still spoke, but Gertrude could neither hear nor see the ghost. So something must be amiss; the ghost was probably not real but only a figment of Hamlet's imagination.

In my personal opinion, father ghost of Hamlet did not existed. The reason why I think the father ghost was fake is that what kind of father want his son to fall? And his country to fall? It it weird that the previous king want the country fall and loving father hates his son. No such father might lead son to danger. Thus, i think the father ghost is fake.

Yes, I believe that the ghost existed and was not an illusion. Why would it be illusion and how does he know how the father died. It's really skeptical to think that the ghost is a demon. There might be a possibility of the ghost being a demon but I think the ghost was his father and his father would never lie to his son, Hamlet.

We can all agree that the ghost (whether a demon or the specter of King Hamlet) appeared on the castle rooftop in the first act. However, there appear to be a variety of theories about the ghost's appearance in Gertrude's bedroom in Act 3. It seems interesting that we base our conclusion on the existence of the ghost based on if anyone besides Hamlet saw the ghost: we believed the ghost was real on the rooftop because all the guards saw him also, but we thought the ghost wasn't real in Gertrude's bedroom because Gertrude couldn't see it. Our cluncool seems to have no trust in Hamlet whatsoever about what he saw, which makes me think that all of us, at some level, believe that he is mad.
As for my theory about the ghost, I do think it was real, and I still think it was real in Gertrude's bedroom. We all thought it wasn't real because Gertrude couldn't see it, but what if Gertrude couldn't see it because the ghost didn't want her to see it. A ghost is part of the supernatural world, so we don't know what it is capable of. I think it makes sense that the ghost wouldn't want Gertrude to see it because it didn't want to involve her in Hamlet's revenge plan.
