This might be a bit off topic to what we're learning these days in cluncool. However, as we see in Hamlet, we can see each characters have different things they value so much.
For Claudius, it was his ambition of power. For Gertrude, it was love towards her son. For Ophelia, it was men who could take care of her. Everyone had different things that they've valued on. However, these days many people think that all people value only money and power. Yes, it is true, we cannot live without money.
But, what do you sincerely value? How do you try to keep your valuable things/thoughts?

I strongly agree with you. I believe that the world these days run on money instead of air or gravity. Everything costs something, there is a bit of economics in this. I think what people value has been pulled off the table because they do not come on a silver platter, it costs and that costs may be money, or some other things that you value. Once you get something that you value, I don't think that you can get another thing that you value unless you give up something in your life. What people value has been so rarely thought of that people tend to think that what they vlaue the most is money, which can be true to some people but money is just a current medium of exchange that we use. I don't know about you guys but I think if we value that medium of exchange more than what we even exchange.. I find it ironic

I value my own enjoyment and sanity. I don't want to be stuck having to listen and do everything other people say, at least all the time. Money can definitely buy entertainment (video games, movies, vacations), but it can't be entertainment itself.

I think one way or another, we all want (or value) some sort of wealth or power. Whether that means lots of money or power over close relationships differs for each person, but there can be both materialistic and inmaterialistic things we all want. Even though I would like (trying not to sound arrogant) lots of money in life so that I don't have to worry about my future or the future of my kids, I also value my family relationships and would do anything to support my parents, especially since they've been caring for me for the past 17 years. I also value the relationships of my friends and relatives because that helps us define who we are. Overall, i think relationships in general are very important, as they can help us prepare for the future.

I think values are mostly influenced through experiences and comparing others. So I value mostly my friends and family, since they mostly teach me about life, make me happy and feel courageous and satisfied about myself. Through which I keep these values by interacting with them and express my thoughts and feelings. Since everyone's in their life make mistakes, and getting advice and opinions from others will improve life and avoid mistakes to be prepared for the future.

In this period of my life, I am focused on myself. I value my morals, my thoughts, my aspirations, my imagination. I try to keep them by being openminded and positive. I know as I grow older, my values will decrease, and my standards may drop. I hope that doesn't happen, so I need to constantly tell myself to be a kid.

I think that with Claudius and Gertrude in those examples, these were things that they wanted so desperately. Everyone has one thing that they'd do anything for, but a lot of people might not be so aggressive about pursuing it, or might not ever find it in my opinion. These were fictional characters, so what they wanted was their motive for how they acted, which would add to characterisation, which might be why theirs are more obvious.

I value people who are important to me. Apart from the fact I love them, those people are part of who I am. It is the reason I stand here today. Another thing I value is choice. Rarely do I value a choice that someone else made for me- I prefer to ignore it. It feels like it is taking my personal identity away from me. On the other hand, I want to take responsibility on choices I've made.

I personally value people, trust, and care. Wealth and power is what people really desire and it comes out of our selfishness. There's lack of care and empathy these days. People still might value differently than what I do, but at least those are what I value in.

I think we can relate to one of our discussion board question “What is a meaning of success?” It is true that in Hamlet, each character has different things they value so much. Those things or thoughts that they valued so much were the meaning of success in their life. Now, I’m not sure about my meaning of success in my life.

Right, the script have different charaters becasue the main idea of stroy I saw it was that Skapear want to reflcet that socity in that time. Also that mean the role of each person it the story it play more likly role genter and age of older than you. And the author purpose it get attaction of people for story there was mystery in Hamlet. People jude him more likey as moral or ethcial. As this week in our cluncool the defense lose becasue they were more go with Hamlet emositily.

I would value my life overall. While everyone else values something more specific, I think that they all fall under life in general. Each one of those things that we value are part of something we want to have or keep having while we are alive. I can't speak for everyone, but I can speak for myself. By valuing life itself, I'm valuing everything about it from my family, personal relationships, and so much more.

What I value the most is my happiness. My personal happiness is what keeps me alive. I personally think there is no point of living if there isn't any joy and pleasure in this world. Therefore, I appreciate and treasure those who give me joy, such as my family and my friends.

I value on meaningful things. In my personal opinion, memories and experiences are the most important things our life. People might think of money or other materiable things when they heard the word value on but, i think money can't buy the memories and experiences. And for me, memories and experiences are unforgettable happiness. Thus, I value in more meaningful things rather than materiable things.
