I found this video and think it is useful for us because we always view stress something so negatively, and thinking that stress it harmful for our body and brain. But then as I watch his video from TEDtalks Psychologist Kelly McGonigal urges us to see stress as a positive and introduces us to an unsung mechanism for stress reduction: reaching out to others. (Stress. It makes your heart pound, your breathing quicken, and your forehead sweat. But while stress has been made into a public health enemy, new research suggests that stress may only be bad for you if you believe that to be the case. Psychologist Kelly McGonigal urges us to see stress as a positive and introduces us to an unsung mechanism for stress reduction: reaching out to others.) What do you think guys? Is stress always bad? Why do we view stress it bad things to our body? This is a link if like to watch it. www.ted.com/talks/kelly_mcgonigal_how_to_make_stress_your_friend?language=en

Personally, I feel that I can't make stress my friend or however you put it. To me, stress just helps to put more things on my mind when I'm already bogged down with enough. It then puts me in a state of denial because I don't want anymore. But stress would just make me juggle more at once and then put me in a bad mood. It's interesting to find others that view stress as a good thing, but to me, I just find it negative.

This makes stress sound like a placebo, or a thing that only affects you because you believe it would affect you. The thing with stress is that you're not going to be thinking with a rational mind when under stress, so there's going to be trouble in seeing the positives of it. I guess even when treated negatively, as long as it doesn't overwhelm you, you can focus on the tasks at hand that cause the stress, but I'm not sure how to make it not overwhelm you.

Too much stress is bad because it can lead to inability to function for normal living or to various diseases. But having no stress at all is also bad for us because no stress means no room for improvement, Positive is, in a way, positive because it brings improvement and motivation, yet we view it negatively because of how the world represents stress. We just have to try to have 'sufficient' amount of stress, because that can make us rolling in whatever tasks that we do.

It's hard to think that stress could be good for me but I agree that it is something necessary in life. We see people with illnesses that are linked to stress, anxiety, or depression and it is one of the things that causes conflicts in relationships. However, by learning how to embrace stress, we can transform fear into courage and suffering into meaning. Not everyone is affected by stress in the same way. So by changing our mind about stress, we can change our body's response to stress and better prepare ourselves for challenges in life.

I think the stress is bad for us because I saw the negative things about stresses that influence our health. The stress is also part of our illness and it could make conflict with other people. We trying not to express our madness from the stress to other people, but unconsciously we expresses our feeling toward other people. There is a research that the stress influences our brain and it causes dementia. Therefore, there is no way to think about the stress is positive to us. There are more reaches that talks about negative views about stress rather than positive things. For example, people committing a suicide due to their own stresses like money, educations, or jobs. I feel scary with stress,so I trying to release those stresses as soon as I got it.

I personally think that stress is something that affects your body negatively. Stress is a factor that actually harms the human body but if somehow, people can find out a way to use the negatively occurring stress in their body and turn it positively, then the story will be different. For me, I think that stress is just something that all people have but, its just that when we feel heavily pressured or we feel that things are happening beyond our limits, thats when stress presses you down hard. Unless we get to that level, I think that stress is a good factor that can actually help our style of living.

Stress is basically a constant reminder feeling that a job needed to be accomplished, we see it mostly as a bad things since there are already many stressors that is effecting us in our daily lives, and we barely even finish these jobs in the day. Adding more stress causes people to be uncomfortable and therefore people get annoyed and that is what causes people to see stress to have such a negative reaction to it. Even though I see stress as a good reminder to work on homework or studying, because it has consequences later on whether if I do great or I do a "meh" will effect my future.

A bit of stress can actually trigger you to do something better. It can weakly shock you and you'll realize that you have to do better by the stress you felt. However, normally when you say the word "stress", it's usually very negative. This is because stress usually discourage and make us irritated. I do agree with Lucia that stress is needed sometimes in our life because we might lose ourselves getting on track. However, my personal opinion of stress is not good for our mental health. With an extreme stress we can get depression or some kind of mental disorder which will cause a bad impact in our life. A little stress can give you motivation but usually we don't complain about on those small amounts of stress. Therefore, the stress we talk about these days are pretty serious. It's really important for us to release our stress somewhere else for our mental healths.

I also agree with jonah. In my personal opinion, stress is not always a bad thing because it sometimes push me to do something right thing. Also, stress also motivates me and moves me to proper way rather than going wrong because of lazyness. However, i am not saying that stress is a good thing st the same time.

Stress is not always bad. Some stress could motivate you to concentrate and focus better. If you are too lax, you are likely to be careless and negligent. However, when you get too much stress, it could be a big problem. It not only cause emotional fatigue, but also physical. Stress is also a number one of major cause of depression which could lead to suicide in the worst case scenario. Therefore, it is important for us to release stress whenever possible!

Stress can be bad or good depending on the situation. Sometimes stress can make you do all the work because you can't sleep. In the back of your brain, it is telling you to do work and finish it. So stress can give motivation to accomplish work. But, if you receive bad stress from parents or your environment it can lead to depression. Depression can lead to suicide which is a bad thing. We view stress as a bad thing because the society tells us that stress is bad and cause cancer. They always put it on the news because it is a common topic.

Ahh, everything is about balance. That's deep! It's quite common in our lives where we have to think of a bad thing as something positive...but like, yeah what else can you do. Stress doesn't go away, I even get stressed over the fact that I have nothing to be stressed about. Everyone has mentioned above that stress can be good and bad, I just hope that everyone has their way of coping with it when it gets bad. Because as Topher and Andrew said, stress can lead to diseases and depression.
