Imagine that it is finally Federigo’s and Monna’s wedding day. Based on each character’s personality and his/her financial situations, think of a wedding gift each person will give to the other and briefly explain why that corresponds with that certain character.

I think Federico will still buy an expensive gift for Monna despite his terrible financial situation. Although the ending of the story hints that he is getting better at managing his money, I don't think he will rid his materialistic ideals so fast. I think he will sell whatever he has to buy her a diamond ring. On the other hand, I think Mona will get Federico something more meaningful and considerate because she value heartiness over materialism. Some possible examples would be a poem expressing her feeling or handmade goods such as knitted scarf.

I feel that Federico will give his best gift even if the situation is harsh for him. Federico loves Monna and Monna feel the love. I believe that Monna will tell Federico that she doesn't need anything and say "it's about the heart bro" So Federico will give her a golden or silver ring. I feel that Monna will finally say "I love you" and give a kiss to Federico. I also feel like that Monna will buy Federico a watch. Monna wants to express her love and show that money can't win her heart.

I think Federico will prepare best place and pretty wedding dress for her. I think he is poor, so I think he will make a dress for her. Monna will want something more meaningful gift from him. I think Federico will continuously give expansive presents to her, but Monna wants something more special presents instead of money wise. She will be upset with his action, so I think she will broke up with him and dying alone. I think their ending will be sad because they sacrificed their meaningful people.

Like jooyoung said, I think that Federigo will do anything to buy something that is worthy of Monna's gift to him, like very expensive shoes. Rather than a gift that is meaningful, he will look for things that are ostentatious despite his financial status. Similarly, I think that Monna will also give him something expensive and ostentatious only to pay him back because she knew how much he sacrificed for her when she was not really attracted to him and she also tried to use his love in her favor, therefore taking advantage of him.

Since Federigo was always focused on finding and serving the finest and the best to his one true love, Monna, I think he will once more reach out to a extent that he may not even be capable of. Federigo sacrificed his best friend to serve his lady. There is no predicting what he will come up with next. In their world if there was such a thing as a youth potion Fededrigo would find it and give it to his wife. Monna on the other hand would not go to such an great extent for his wedding gift. Monna is merely thankful for Federigo's kindness and thought. Rather than putting this gratitude into buying material goods, Monna might give Fedrigo something with meaning behind it. Maybe even something from her possession as a sign of her devotion to him.

Federico will prepare the finest gift he can possibly prepare not caring about his financial circumstances. He might sell everything he owns or steal stuff in order to prepare the gift. My guess is a ring that has many jewels in it which Federico proposes to marry him. In the other hand Monna might give a mirror to Federico because she wants Federico to care about himself more.

I think Federigo will give Monna something that is not necessarily expensive, but at least fancy. Even after she never accepted his superficial gifts, he didn't realize she didn't care about the monetary value of what he gave her. He continued to throw lavish parties until he went broke. Even when he was living a poor life out in the country, when she came to eat a "simple dinner" with him, he proceeded to cook his falcon for her merely because it appeared to be of the best quality.
Meanwhie, I think that Monna wil give Federigo a pet falcon. Monna appears to care about the meaning behind the gifts, not how fancy it is. She had Federigo's gift of his own falcon not because of how good it tasted, but because of the fact that Federigo seemed to willing to give up anything to prove his love for her. He had wrung the neck of and cooked his own best friend just to give her a delicious meal. This act was what made Monna change her mind toward Federigo, so I think she would cherish this memory and give Federigo another falcon as a token of their encounter.

I think Monna could give him something little more expensive because she could afford it but not too flashy because she doesn't value wealth in that way. For example, maybe a brooch shaped like a falcon. I think Frederigo would give Monna something more simple but that has a lot of meaning. I think he might handcraft something that symoblises his love for her. For example, he might make a collection of love poems for her.
