Dylan Thomas was mad at death and some people were really smart and cannot make a mark. These are the question for DB.
Is legacies important?
What’s the point of living if we are not able to make legacies?

I think legacies are important because of how we can benefit humanity and become a way to motivate and inspire people to build upon a legacy, even if we are unable to make legacies, there is still a point of living of at least the attempt to try. If people do not try, then there won't be legacies at all and people just give up their hopes and dreams, so you just have to keep trying no matter how difficult it is so that life will keep running.

I also think that legacies are important because they inspire others, especially in younger generations, to do as well also. For example, if a high school student is a legacy from a parent or older generation who went to an excellent school, that would inspire the student to also do well as that person and also go to an excellent school as the past generation did.

I don't think legacies are that important. Of course it is great if you leave a mark in the world before you die because you would move society forward and people remember you. However, what is the point if you are not there anyway? Therefore, I think living in the moment is more important. We should live each day of our lives fullest. The happiness we get out of each day itself is enough reason to continue living.

Someone once told me that legacies are only for people who have a story to tell. I somewhat agree and disagree with this. I think that everyone has a story to tell. It may not be necessarily the most heroic or memorable to everyone, but it is still special to themselves. This is when another questions emerges. Are legacies stories that are remembered to yourself or to others?
Legacies to remember for yourself are easy to create. However we cannot create a legacy in the eyes of everyone in the world. This is because there are so many people with different opinions so the story that may be treasured for one person may to be so for another.

I think legacies are important because they can serve as role models in a way. Many people look up to people with great legacies because of those legacies. It serves as a sort of fable, or a lesson to be learnt, which many people adopt into their own lives in order to strive to be as great or even greater than those people.

I agree with emily, because legacies make us inspire, because we try to reach that goal when we see someone as a legacy. For an example, a person who likes rap music, probably would think Eminem is a legacy, so they will most likely to try harder and become one like him one day. So legacies encourage us to achieve our goals.

Legacies are important because they can give inspiration to other people. Yet, making such legacies is very hard. Though things are easily forgotten, we still live on because of our own personal motivations and drives that help us live on our life.

I think legacies are important because they sometimes inspire people who are even living decades before or after. For example, many scientists such as Edison probably have inspired many people to become a great scientist. Wihtout leagices, people won't feel like achieving anything really.

I think legacies are important because they are similar to a special memory. Like the personal memories that we keep dear to hearts today, legacies are the memories of our history. Alexander the Great, Queen Elizabeth, and even Steven Jobs - they are merely some the figures who will never be forgotten. The deeds they performed during their lives have the ability (as others said) to inspire those of their present and the far future. Legacies act as the role model of the world, not just for one individual.

People want to leave legacies for many different reasons but I think most do it to influence people and inspire them. I agree with Emily that they inspire people so that those people could bring changes make the world better.
