Is personal integrity more important than survival?
think that personal integrity is more important than survival because I would rather lie about something and survive, than to die for someone lying on me. For example, In Salem, many people died for being lied on that they were doing witchcraft and some people died and they didn't even know why. I think it's sad what they did to those innocent people. That should never happen in my opinion
Is integrity human nature ? and why the most of the time we fights to survival? Is now happing in world Show Integrity or just fights for Survival?

In my opinion about personal integrity and survival, i have to disagree with you, because i believe survival is way more important than personal integrity. I mean who is not scared of dying? Everybody is scared of dying, but the thing is if you could protect your life, by lying anybody would go for it. It is part of our human nature, because lying or giving an excuses is part of surviving from the fear of dying or facing something horrible. No matter how people believed that being honest is more important than living your life, it is not really possible, either way you try to survive yourself, instead of just being an honest person. i'd rather live instead of being an honest person and dying, because life is important to me. And i believe that is similar to others, and that's why we make excuses to protect, or defend ourselves. Just like Sarah Good did in the trial.

I think personal integrity is more important than survival. Although not being truthful to yourself or others may keep you from dying, the remaining life that comes after may not be very pleasant. Let's say an innocent girl was given the option: 1) admit that she is a witch and be purified or 2) do not admit and get burned at the stake. If girl choose option 1, she may not be burned to death but she will be forever labeled as a "witch" by society. She maybe outcasted or even shunned. If she is unable to be accepted back to society and mix in once again, then what is the point of living?

I actually do not think that personal integrity is more important than survival. Since humans all have selfishness and all scared of fears, they should survive first although they destroy their personal integrity. Moreover, I think pretending that not caring about survival is more worst. Because there's no honesty although people can keep their personal integrity. Thus, I think we should choose out survival as most priority than other stuffs.

Taking the Salem Witch Trials as an example, I would say that personal integrity is more important than survival. If one was accused of being a witch, people would be expecting you to deny being one to justify why that person is a witch (because that person would try to hide their own identity as a witch). A specific trial, the case with Tituba, saw the accused actually admitting she was a witch. Tituba actually tried to prove to those that she was a witch. She may have been expected to deny it in order to prove that she was a witch and hang her, but she admitting it was unexpected. In the end, the worst that Tituba faced was just a prison time, but was later freed. Had she lied, she would have been hanged.

I've never faced death before, so I really can't answer this question truthfully, therefore this my "ideal opinion". I do believe personal integrity is more important than survival because life isn't that important. To me, integrity is the core of a person. Who could you be if you can't even be honest to yourself. In a world thats so unreal and kind of like a mix of so many different kinds of bad, integrity is the only thing that's real. I would chose something real over a life that is not.
But yeah, if someone was going to burn me alive, or cut my body parts off....I would be way too scared. So basically, I'm a coward.

I think integrity is more important because order to survive, we need to be integrity to ourselves. Order to survive we need integrity because everything follows consequences. When we lie, there are consequences for that. We need to be honest in some situations order to survive. For example, when we lie to ourself then we have to live with guilt inside our mind. When we start to lie, there will be no end for it. I think it is important to be honest to ourself in order to live. I'm trying to honest myself and make courage together to make myself survive in any other situations.

I personally believe personal integrity is important than survival. Being honest and truthful can kill you. The real problem is that not all people think personal integrity is important than survival. In Salem, although, Sarah Good was very confidence about her answer, no body believed her in the trial. And I believe the judges already had their answer. I also believe we integrity is not a human nature because we can survive being not honest.

I think that when we only consider moral reasons, we all think that we would value personal integrity more than survival. However, when this situation actually occurs, we would choose our lives over our pride. One aspect of human nature is the fear of death; though we may not always show, nobody wants to die. Everyone wants to live to their limit, and death is that stopping point. Attempting to avoid death, even for a little while, is enough to forget our moral principles and give up dignity.
Also, I would think that even if one chose not to be honorable so close to dying, people wouldn't really view that decision as shameful, as long as that person was deemed honorable before that occasion. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Gawain chose his life by accepting the girdle and lying to the lord that he had such an object. Though he was 'dishonorable', both the Green Knight and the people of Camelot forgave his fault. The Green Knight let Gawain go because he had lied only for his life and not some other petty reason (such as succumbing to the lord's wife's temptations) and the commoners of Camelot still valued Gawain as a Knight of the Round Table because they knew what he had already gone through. So, as long as personal integrity was kept in the past, one won't be blamed for choosing survival.

Some might say "Ehhh how do you have personal integrity if you are not even alive?" but there is a word in Chinese "生不如死", it's saying that being alive is worse than death. When do we use that word? How do people use it? For example, when people feel so guilty or shamed that they's rather just die. Basically, when you feel like your life is terrible and you don't want to continue living in such miserable life. Let's say you killed someone and you were so nervous and you don't want to get caught. You lied and they couldn't get you, you felt safe but but felt guilty as hell, you see someone you killed in your dreams every night and you thought: " I should've told the truth. I would be feeling better than now." Personal integrity cannot make you feel like nothing had happened but at least having personal integrity may help you feel better than not having personal integrity.

I believe personal integrity is more important than survival. During the cluncool discussion, some religion values their integrity over survival. For example, if people who believe in religion that values personal integrity tend to lie, they will get murdered or killed if the fact that they lied have been revealed. Also, they will be severely punished by the god who they believe in. This applies to christians because according to the ten commandments, it says lying is prohibited. I think it really depends on people's culture and convictions.

Most people will say that survival is more important because what's the use of personal integrity if you are not alive?! And they are right to some extent because the fact is totally true. So I don't want to say that they are wrong. But if I think personally which one I will choose, I will go with personal integrity. It's like dying with honor kind of thing to me. I will have no problem dying some years early since we'll have to die eventually. But I really don't want to regret for the rest of my life that I did something wrong to survive.

I also think personal integrity is more Important than survival. One of the reasons why we live is because of our own personal beliefs and what we think is right, so there will be no point of living if we lived without personal integrity. I think Integrity is not human nature and integrity is not more important than survival. However everyone has personal integrity because i define personal integrity with ones belief and integrity with society's belief.
