There is many refugees From middle east in last few years especially Syrian refugees because of war they go to Germany and thousands of them left them country to go Europe . Because Germany accept them . but refugees they have many suffering until arrive to Europe they crosse sea and many of them drowning in sea, in 2015 we saw a lot of picture in social media for child that they were drowning in mediterranean sea. In order hand to do think this refugees will be benefits to Germany or they will be unhelpful or useless do they will cause problems of Economies of country or they help it and also do the Refugees will gets them dreams to live in save area without have fear from death and Suffering life. But my question here. Why are do some countries accept refugees whilst others don't? and also this interesting article that I found about are www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/09/08/this-map-helps-explain-why-some-european-countries-reject-refugees-and-others-love-them

I believe this question concerns Morality vs. Politics. Depending on which the country value more, they may decide or decide not to accept refugees. Politically, accepting refugees may be a huge stress because the country has to take responsibility for them. For example, the country would have to provide provisions during their stay and plan out relocation when crisis is over. However, not accepting refugee may be morally unacceptable. Refugee by definition from dictionary.com is "a person who flees for refuge or safety, especially to a foreign country, as in time of political upheaval, war, or etc". They are leaving their home for a reason! Their home is or will be destroyed and their life in on the line. To turn down these refugees would mean ignoring their tragedy and their future hardship and misery. In my personal opinion, a country should accept the refugees. Not only it is morally right, but refugees may also help boost economy as new human labor force. Also, refugees may even help diversify the nation's demographics and culture.

Agreeing with Jooyoung, this question is a deep question that concerns between the Morals and Politics. For the countries who valued more on the moral, they would've applied it on their law and accept all the refugees. However, for countries who valued more on the political rules, they would've believed that it's better for them to refuse the refugees to protect their citizens and strengthen their securities. I think both of them are very important to apply it as a rule. For the Germans, I guess they valued more on the morals and chose to accept the refugees in order to make them safe and living. Their choice made lots of people able to live safely and happy due to their decisions.

I think Germany could make that decision because they have enough. Accepting refugees can be benefiting to your country in a way that they are getting more work forces. However, there are usually more drawbacks. If a country accepts more refugees, it is likely that it will have to deal with little more issues and economic sorting. Germany could make that decision because they live well. So I'll say Germany could decide to accept refugees because they are doing fine. If Germany was in economic or politicla crisis, the refugee issue would have been postponed or rejected. This can be controversial though, because some countries with crisis like Greece are accepting and some other countries doing fine dont accept refugees

Syria is a special case about refugees. There are thousands (or millions) of refugees who escaped Syria to go to Europe and many European countries are either opening up their borders for them or closing them . I believe it's because of the aftermath of accepting the refugees. Of course morally, as JY mentioned, they are people that need help. However, lets look at countries that did help. They ended up with thousands of illegal immigrants and that caused a lot of trouble for them. Even in Korea it is becoming a problem. Germany is one of the top economically diverse countries in the world (4th in the world looking at GDP) and also due to the war crimes they have done during WWII, Germany shown 'nice' actions towards the world. Maybe they think that they will be able to handle this situation. There are many European countries that are close to an economic crisis (just look at Greece) and I believe that's what is preventing from them helping the refugees.

Yes, it is very sad story about the refugee problems in Europe. I have seen couple of articles about the children being dead and ended up on the shore.People become refugees for many reasons. People decide that they can no longer live in their country based on political, economy, and/or religious mattes. In the events of Syria, people try to live their country because of an ongoing war.At this point, let’s talk about those countries which accept the refugees and the countries which do not want the refugees. Countries like Britain and Germany decided to open up their arms toward the refugee policies. Why didn’t they do that before the innocent children got killed? Every country has their laws. Some might more strike than others but it is their law and the law must be followed until it’s changed. When it comes to immigration, we prepare all the documents to show who we are. However, in refugee camp, it is hard to determined individual person. A world wide criminal can easily slide themselves into a third country without proper documents. Also, leading European countries might be worried about their own citizens’ safety in both political and economical reasons. The refugee problem may put the European countries to cause political danger, including terrorism and also may put them into economical danger by providing aid to the non working groups of foreigners. As a person, I do have great sympathy toward the refugees but as a country, it is something to think about. The decision cannot be made over night.

I think refugee in Europe is tragedy to our society. This shows that people abandon their home and memories. I think some people accepting other refugee for politic issues or for economic growth because when there is high rates of population, the economic growth high. In the other hand, they want Syria to be corrupt because country with low population can't survive from other country. It could be emotional issues, but I think those are the most 2 big reasons why they accept refugees. Some countries don't accept refugees because they don't to get trouble with refugees and they can't support refugees.

Everyday, there are many news about the Syrian refugees. They had a long journey to arrive to Europe and most of countries did not welcome them. Instead of taking care of Syrian refugees, many European countries are close their borders. As Jooyoung said, Syrian refugee problems are including political and economical problems. I believe this refugees will both advantage and disadvantage to Germany. It will benefit to Germany because they will have more man forces. However, it will give disadvantage to Germany because they have to spend much money to take care of Syrian Refugee.

I also agree with Jooyoung and others' opinions about morality versus politics. The countries that chose to accept refugees based their decision on human morals, while the countries that chose to refuse refugees based their decisions on federal politics. Nevertheless, I don't think that we should consider the nations who choose to turn down refugees as wrong - they merely have different priorities, some of which others may not agree to. We as regular civilians say that countries are being inhumane by not lending a hand toward the refugees, but if the occasion came that we would have to bring refugees into our own homes, would we do so ourselves, or would we turn them away? As the leaders of powerful countries, the choices of the people who decide the fate of the refugees can't be made on a whim or merely from personal opinion. Leaders have to consider how the refugee surge will affect their own populations and economies, what it will do to their country. Even if they wanted to accept all 4 million refugees, if their choice was to outweigh "protecting" the people of their community rather than accept Syrian refugees, they would decide to turn away arriving refugees.
