should we always tell the truth? Does it matter to tell the truth? So, as we talk in cluncool about Should we always tell the truth? There was many so you disagree, And should not tell the truth because it might cause harmful our the truth it is not easy to tell. Is always right to tell the truth even the consequences are harm? And in the story of Hamlet, there was any truth. Did anyone of characters tell the truth?
what do think guys?

I don't thin we should always tell the truth. There are times when it is better that we don't know the truth. For example, South Korean government does not broadcast every single crime on the news. This is to make prevent South Korean citizens to have false belief that Korea is a dangerous country, and Korea really is a safe country! You can walk around at night.

This goes back to the question of is honesty more important than self preservation? It is a hard question to answer, because I feel like people are always torn between these two places. Do we protect ourselves by being dishonest or do we keep our faith and loyalty towards whatever we believe in. This situation can come under religion as well. We have seen many situations in the witch trails where the accused witches had to abandon their beliefs and morals in order to claim that the devil is truly inside them and save their lives. To be completely honest I would be very puzzled and at conflict with myself if I was in that situation.

It's important to stay truthful in my opinion. But I think that sometimes, it's better off to lie about something. By telling the truth, we may save ourselves from any dangers. You could say that this also has to deal with human nature, where we want to survive. If telling the truth causes us to be harmed, why would we want to say it? We'd rather lie to save ourselves than to die with the truth.

I believe it's really up to you. If you want to be a truthful person then tell the truth. However, there are white lies just to make that person happy. If your girlfriend says if she thinks fat in this dress would you say she is fat? It really depends on the situation to lie or not. However, it is important to tell the truth because you will get loyalty and honor by saying the truth.

Agreeing with Andrew, it really depends on your choice whether you decide to tell the truth or not. As we talked in cluncool, many people who say we should tell the truth, uncoolumes that people will forgive you. However, forgiveness and being truthful is a different thing. When you decide to tell the truth, you can't uncoolume that the people will forgive you. You actually have to be aware the outcomes (circumstances) they'll react due to your action. I personally don't lie that much, but I just don't tell. I agree lying too much can make a problem but I also don't think truth is trustworthy to us. Lie and truth can be good or bad depending on the situation. We sometimes say, it's better not to know the truth because we don't want to get our loved ones hurt.

telling a lie could depend on the situation whether is it a good thing or a bad thing. if we are lying for somebody's sake i consider that lie would not harm anybody, but if somebody is lying because he or she committed a murder well that lie is something that i would not appreciate.

Integrity is doing the right thing and being honest at all times in all circumstances. It takes having the courage to do the right thing, no matter what the consequences will be. Building a reputation of integrity takes years, but it takes only a second to lose. Dishonesty may provide instant gratification in the moment, but it will never last. For example, there is person without integrity who is successful and wins without ever getting caught. However, it creates a false perception of the path to success that one should follow. Person could have gained the result that wanted in the moment, but unfortunately, the result is temporary. Person has lost its ability to be trusted as a person of integrity, which is the most valuable quality anyone can have in its life.

I think truth is important and that you should always tell the truth in the beginning, or in the end. As the saying, "The truth is always to be found out." goes, there are no perfect lies. The truth can be hidden from people but it cannot be vanished or destroyed by lies. I think that it is important for us to make confessions and tell the truth to their peers. Once you lie, it brings another lie, and another, and another after the other. It will just be the same routine over and over again. Integrity, or being honest requires a lot of different aspects from you. Such as, courage, strength, grit, and honesty. All these aspects make up who you are and what you are capable of within the truth.

I think it's impossible to convince everyone to tell the truth although "honesty is the best policy". We are always deciding whether to tell the truth or tell a lie and that decision depends on the person and his or her morale. But sometimes, we end up telling ourselves it's just a little lie and it doesnt hurt anyone. Most of the time it's true. A little lie can save everyone the trouble of feeling bad and avoid unnecessary pain. Sometimes it works out but other times it really doesn't. Or you might eventually have to tell the truth anyway. I think that as individuals, we can make either choice without having to always restrain ourselves in life.

I don't think that telling the truth is always necessary. For example, I have a friend who always tells the truth, but that can be problematic. He grew up reading and spending time at home so much that he didn't really know the social ethics of society, so even if it seemed rude he would say it anyways because it was the truth. He would tell a girl that she wasn't pretty, and though she may get offended greatly by that comment, he would not really have a problem because that was how he viewed her, so that was his truth. So truth is not always necessary, but lying is not that good either.

I think telling the truth is important, but it really depends on like a scale. Maybe if it is personal between to people then it's best to tell the truth since it will make understanding between to people and help trust, even though it is a right for them to know the truth. But to a public view, I think it's better to manipulate the truth for their own good to avoid any stress and rebellion against the country. Even though from the saying "A lie has short legs" , but it's for their own good.

It's hard to tell we have to always tell the truth. Sometime it's better to lie, but sometime we bette to tell the truth. Some people think there are some situations that we need to lie for opponents, but when they know we are lying then the relationship could be very negative and we are breaking the trust each other. I also think that there is no perfect lie because truth can't be hide. There might be perfect lie when there is only two persons are living in this world, but that is not how real world is. There is always someone watching us and knows the truth. I still didn't find the lie is better or truth is better.

In my opinion, questions with the words "should or should not", or "does it matter" limits ones answer because it is subjective from the start. I don't really know how to answer it because doesn't it go without saying that "it depends"? Would providing explanations for why I answered "it depends" help answer the question? But everyone would do that, so then what's the point of the question? If it was to ask for the opinions of people then of course it makes sense, but if we were trying to actually get somewhere with the answer maybe we should change the question. Or yeah, these questions aren't answerable anyway, that's true too. (Maysam, this is to rebut tok not you haha)

I don't think that we should always tell the truth or it matters to even tell the truth to others. Even if we do tell the truth to people, its their choice to believe it or not. Even inside the story that we are learning about, a character named Claudius lies about everything. Every individual seems to have a inner self and outside self which for Claudius, its just really strong. What I'm trying to say is that always telling the truth can either hurt or save someone but thats the same for lying so it doesn't really matter if you lie or not and nobody will care.
